Naushaba Khan testimonial, MentorSHE 2020-21 graduate:
"The transition period between graduating school and getting your first job is filled with uncertainties and doubts. It is especially hard when you are an international student and there is a time limit set on you, add a pandemic to the mix and you start believing that you will fail. That is when I came across MentorSHE - a time when I truly was at my lowest. However, participating in MentorSHE as a mentee changed all that for me. Phase 1, which included career coaching sessions, helped me stay focused on my goals and see things with a fresh perspective. More importantly, my coach provided me with resources that only professionals have access to and helped me build good habits to gradually overcome my barriers. During Phase 2 of MentorSHE, I was mentored by industry experts who had extensive knowledge and experience in the field of science. My mentors opened my eyes to STEM career opportunities that I had not previously considered or even known about at the time. I was able to pick their brains and learn from their personal journeys, but most importantly I was able to grow my network with a group of brilliant women who have achieved great heights in the field of STEM. Looking back participating in MentorSHE was the smartest decision that I had made for myself in 2020 and the best part about it was that I did end up landing my first job! I would recommend it to all women pursuing a career in STEM regardless of what stage in their career they are at." - Naushaba Khan
